How to Respond to an Opportunity Posting in SupplierGateway
SupplierGateway provides suppliers with visibility into active sourcing opportunities posted by buyers in the network. Responding to these opportunities allows your company to express interest and be considered for potential business engagements.
Follow the steps below to review and respond to an opportunity posting:
1. Access the Basic Supplier Package
Log into your SupplierGateway account and navigate to the Basic Supplier Package from your supplier dashboard.
2. Navigate to Search Opportunities
Within the Basic Supplier Package, select Search Opportunities. This section contains all active and available sourcing opportunities posted by buyers.
3. Filter to Unread Opportunities
Use the “Unread” filter to view opportunities you have not yet reviewed. This helps you quickly identify new postings relevant to your business.
4. Review the Opportunity Details
Click into the opportunity listing to review the full posting details, including requirements, scope, and any buyer-specific instructions. Ensure your company’s products or services align with the opportunity before proceeding.
5. Respond to the Opportunity
To express interest, select the green action button labeled:
“Add [Your Company Name] to the list for this opportunity”
This action formally adds your company to the list of suppliers being considered for that opportunity.
6. Confirmation of Submission
Once selected, your company will be added to the buyer’s review list. The buyer will then be able to evaluate your profile alongside other responding suppliers during their sourcing review process.
Important Notes
- Responding to an opportunity does not guarantee selection; it ensures your company is included in the buyer’s consideration pool.
- Maintaining a complete and up-to-date supplier profile increases your chances of being shortlisted.
- Buyers may review additional profile details such as certifications, compliance documents, and business classifications during evaluation.
Best Practice Tip
To improve visibility and competitiveness, ensure your supplier profile is fully completed with accurate company information, certifications, and supporting documentation before responding to opportunities.
