Using the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Console
The Supplier Relationship management (SRM ) console provides a holistic view of your interactions with companies that you have identified for SRM tracking. This console can be used for potential suppliers that you are developing new relationships with, as well as current suppliers. This step by step walk through provides an overview how to use the SRM console.
Add companies
The companies that are available to you from the search tool include prospective as well as current suppliers. In order to show in the search results, companies have to either be currently identified as your current supplier or in the case of prospective suppliers, must be registered in your SupplierGATEWAY portal.
View all tracked SRM companies
This tab in the console allows you to see other companies that are being tracked within your organization.
View SRM activity for a specific company
The SRM activity icon links you to all of the SRM events related to the selected company.
Entering SRM Activity
There are two ways that activity is logged in the SRM console.
- Based on events within the system such as registration, response to opportunity postings, bid participation, purchase order issuance, etc.; or,
- Based on entries made by individual personnel that have interacted with the company. These entries are made using the Add SRM Event button on the right side of the activity view console
Clicking on the add SRM Event button provides a way to enter activity related to the selected company. There are 3 main components.
- The date the event happened (you may use any date in the past, up to and including today)
- The category of events (this is a selection that is determined by your organization)
- A description of the activity
Viewing the SRM Activity
The activity is displayed in two ways. Ordered chronologically (Activity Timeline), with the most recent activity first or organized by Activity Groups. The view below is showing an activity that occurred that has been recorded in the system.
This view below shows activity groups. within each group, recorded events are shown most recent first.
Viewing the Supplier Center Dashboard
The Supplier Center dashboard summarizes metrics and status information relating to the company all in one convenient location. As your transactional interactions in the system occur, the data is automatically updated.
The dashboard includes profile information, reviews, compliance results, engagement metrics, purchase order activity, spend activity, and sanctions, risk and compliance data, when available.
View Company Profile
The company profile link gives you access to more detailed information about the company, including demographics, capabilities, and other pertinent information.
Removing companies from your tracking list
If your tracking interest or responsibility for a company ends, you can de-select the company from your view at any time by using the remove icon.
Generating SRM reports
Data from the activity being tracked is available via download reports. The reports do not contain all of the detail but provide counts and summary data to give insights into which team members are active in maintaining relationships with your targeted companies.
The filter options are:
- All SRM activity or just entries made by personnel who report to you (if applicable)
- Activity date range (you may use start, finish, both or neither)
- Supplier Types (Current and/or Prospective)
- Supplier classifications (if you have these defined)
You can also decide which data elements you want to include in the result and the order of the elements, using the selector.
Search for companies on your list
If you have a long SRM Tracking list, you can use the search bar to quickly find a specific company in your list
Filter by demographic category
The panel on the left hand side of the SRM console shows the demographic breakdown of the companies in the list being viewed. To isolate on the specific demographic category, click on the label that corresponds to the demographic category. The green pointer will indicate which category has been selected. To view the full list, click on the "All" option.
Remember, companies may fall under more than one demographic category, so you cannot always add up each category to arrive at the total under "All"
