Running Ad-Hoc Diversity Reports Using Time Machine Data
You have learned about how to create time machine data for your analyses of spend data as it was in the past - now you can also use that same information to run Ad-hoc diversity reports.
The basic premise of how ad-hoc reports work remains the same. You are selecting different parameters to establish the exact types of data you are interested in analyzing. If you need a refresher on ad-hoc reports, you can review here.
The Supplier Diversity Report format is a standard, structured report to help understand the diversity characteristics of your spend.
The time machine version of the report works exactly the same way - EXCEPT it uses the data "frozen" by you for the time period affected. So for example, if you are running a Q1 2023 report using Time Machine data, it will output the diversity information as it was during Q! as opposed to today
How to generate the Ad-Hoc Report using Time Machine data
To get a Time machine output, use the Diversity Report (Time Machine) selection in the Report Format dropdown.
The significance of this use of Time Machine data usually manifests in one of two ways
- Certification status might change (which changes when certifications expire)
- Diversity category might change (which changes if ownership changes and alters the diversity classifications that apply).
In Time machine mode, you will be seeing the result based on information as it was back during the time the data was frozen.
