SupplierGateway integrates with a variety of external county, city, and state certification agencies to help keep supplier profiles accurate and up to date.

How Certification Data Integration Works

The platform connects directly with public certification databases maintained by government and certifying bodies. These integrations allow SupplierGateway to:

• Automatically retrieve certification status information
• Provide supplier demographic information (e.g., minority-owned, women-owned, small business, etc.)
• Keep certification records updated as changes occur in the source systems
• Reduce manual verification work for buyers and suppliers

This means that certification status and metadata can be reflected directly within a supplier’s profile in near real time.

Important Limitation: No Document Import from External Agencies

While SupplierGateway can retrieve certification status data, external agency systems do not allow the platform to import or store the actual certification documents (PDFs or physical files).

This is due to restrictions imposed by the certifying agencies themselves, which only allow:

• Read-only access to certification records
• Data-level information (not file transfer or document download)
• Protection of official document storage within their own systems

How Suppliers Provide Supporting Documentation

If a user needs to view or retain the physical certification document, it must be obtained through one of the following methods:

• Directly from the supplier (uploaded or shared manually within the platform or via request)
• Through the certifying agency’s own portal or system, where the official document is stored
• Uploaded into SupplierGateway by the supplier during onboarding or compliance updates
